How to Respond to the Prefectural Ordinance for the Elimination of Organized Crime Groups and the Points to Pay Attention to

As of October 1, 2011, the "Prefectural Ordinance for the Elimination of Organized Crime Groups"(the "Ordinance") has become effective in each of the entire 47 prefectures in Japan.  Under the "Ordinance," business enterprises are required to make efforts not to associate with organized crime groups.  For this reason, business enterprises are required to engage in business activities based on the "Ordinance," such as by including in contracts provisions related to the elimination of organized crime groups.  In response, we are holding a seminar on the topic of "How to Respond to the Prefectural Ordinance for the Elimination of Organized Crime Groups and the Points to Pay Attention to," on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

The NCCJ cordially invites you and your colleagues to Aperitif with the South African Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

We are excited to announce a unique joint Chamber event - a buffet dinner party presented by the NCCJ and SACCJ (South African Chamber of Commerce in Japan), featuring South African wine and Dutch cheese. Come join us for this tasting adventure of a variety of wines and cheeses; experts will be on hand to impart some fascinating information about these products from our two countries, and guests can also order from our supporting vendors so you can enjoy your favorites at home.

The event will also help support a good cause.  For each paying guest we will donate 500 yen to Two Sisters (http://www.twosisters.org.za/)  in South Africa, to help support the more than 200 children cared for there whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS.
Please join us for a great evening of food, wine, cheese and camaraderie with our friends from the South African Chamber at the elegant event space at the Oakwood Premier Residence in Tokyo Midtown.

During the past 12 months, a great deal of progress has been made in terms of relieving people's immediate needs, yet years of reconstruction stretch ahead in Tohoku. And while the Government of Japan is of necessity first addressing major infrastructural needs, the view from the region's cities and towns is understandably more focused on the minutiae of repairing the social fabric of communities that have literally been torn asunder.
