Call for nomination for THE DESHIMA BUSINESS AWARDS 2016

The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Japan (NCCJ) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2016 Deshima Business Awards.

You are cordially invited to present your company for consideration for these awards.

Established in 2000, the 2016 Deshima Business Awards will be granted by the NCCJ, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in recognition of Dutch companies demonstrating impressive achievements in successful business development in the Japanese market. Two awards will be granted; one within the large company segment and one within the small/mid-size enterprise segment. The Deshima Business Awards aim to recognise those companies that are leading the way in Japan, but also to provide exposure for companies to develop their relations in this market. Since 2006, NCCJ joined with DUJAT (Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation) in awarding this prestigious prize. The Deshima Business Awards are now presented in alternate years in the Netherlands and in Japan, respectively by DUJAT and NCCJ. Entrants will benefit from overall profiling of your company in the market, networking opportunities, as well as showcasing the success of your Japan operation within your organization and to peer group companies.

The judging panel, consisting of representatives from both the Japanese and Dutch business community in Japan, will be carefully selected to provide a wealth of professional perspectives. If you wish to nominate your company for the 2016 Deshima Business Awards, we invite you to present a brief introduction of your company and a short explanation of why your company would like to participate. We kindly ask you to complete the “participant request form” and return this before May 31st to the NCCJ secretary. Past applicants are welcome to submit an application. Former winners are also welcome to submit an application but will be reviewed with the additional condition that significant progress has been achieved since the time of the former award.
If the Deshima Business Awards Committee agrees that your company is a suitable candidate for a Deshima Business Award, we will follow-up and ask for more detailed information. This second-stage submission has an entry deadline of August 15th. The judging panel will review these final applications and all applicants will be informed of the panels’ decision.

If you know of a company that should be nominated, please forward this information to them.
The 2016 awards ceremony is to be scheduled around the end of October / early November 2016. A final date and location will be communicated at a later stage.

We look forward to receiving your nomination.
