New Member: Yan Vermeulen, Boyd & Moore

New Member: Yan Vermeulen, Boyd & Moore

Boyd & Moore recently joined our Chamber as an Associate member with Representative Yan Vermeulen. Boyd & Moore is an executive search firm based in Tokyo that does searches for bi-lingual local or global staff for executive, management or position-critical roles.  Boyd & Moore only works with foreign companies who are looking to establish or expand their operations in Japan/ Asia.

Yan is a Director and currently manages two teams: Semiconductor & Electronics and Industrial & Chemical. The majority of his business is Japan focused and 25% is concentrated on other Asian countries.

Yan is originally from Brabant where he lived until he moved to Japan. Yan attended Rotterdam University and studied Asian Business Management. The first time he moved to Japan was in 2004 on an exchange program from his university.  He ended up spending nine months in Kansai studying Japanese and doing an internship for a Japanese company. After finishing university in the Netherlands he packed his bags and came back to Japan. It’s been over six years in total now, including 5.5 years in Tokyo.

As a reason for joining NCCJ Yan mentions that in his 5+ years in Tokyo, he has always known about NCCJ’s activities with the Dutch business community. He finally joined after he met several interesting members who convinced him to join. Yan thinks it’s an excellent opportunity for him to learn from members from different ranks and industries, and to share business ideas.
