The NCCJ is excited to welcome you at the official opening of the NL Tokyo Expo. TeamNL Tokyo Expo is a virtual business platform to promote the Netherlands and is the result of a close cooperation between NOC*NSF and Papendal together with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Dutch Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo.
During this event, the winners of the Deshima Business Awards 2020 will be announced. The event will take place on June 7 at 16:00 Japan time. If you would like to attend this meeting, please sign up by sending an email to marketing@papendal.nl by Friday June 4, 20:00.

Invitation opening ceremony NL Tokyo Expo, June 7 at 16:00 (CJT)
The Olympics and Paralympics are a time for nations to get together. Now that the circumstances do not allow physical encounter the Netherlands introduces TeamNL Tokyo Expo, the result of a close cooperation between NOC*NSF and Papendal together with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Dutch Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo. TeamNL Tokyo Expo is a virtual business platform to promote the Netherlands, to stimulate international entrepreneurship and to give attention to societal challenges. TeamNL Tokyo Expo is based on the Olympic value that sport drives societal development. The opening of TeamNL Tokyo Expo will be on Monday 7 June 16:00 (CJT).
TeamNL Tokyo Expo
TeamNL Tokyo Expo offers a platform where Dutch companies, social entrepreneurs and knowledge institutes can meet up with their Japanese counterparts in a unique setting to explore opportunities for cooperation. The main themes of the TeamNL Tokyo Expo are the nexus food-water-energy, high-tech innovation and vitality. The activities will consist of matching events, online presentations, information on the Dutch athletes.
Rangaku Now
An important keyword for TeamNL Tokyo Expo is ‘Rangaku’. Rangaku pays homage to the special relationship between Japan and the Netherland during the Edo period when the Netherlands inspired Japan through introducing western science, medicine and technology. The Netherlands boosted innovation in Japan. With the theme of Rangaku Now the Netherlands emphasizes the continuity of innovative collaboration that inspires Japan and the Netherlands.
Register Opening ceremony
On Monday 7 June 16:00hr (CJT) the opening ceremony will be held online in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms. Sigrid Kaag and the general director of NOC*NSF Mr. Gerard Dielessen. The Deshima Business Awards winners will also be announced during the opening ceremony. The language of the event is English with Japanese simultaneous interpretation.
