NCCJ event report: "Briefing & Drinks" at Colliers International
On October 6, 2011 about 20 members and guests were invited to the boardroom of Colliers International in the Halifax Building in Roppongi for the 2nd. “The Briefing & Drinks" presentation.
"The Briefing & Drinks" series are presentations whereby NCCJ members present the sectors in which they operate, as well as outlining their strategies and operations. Colliers International is a leader in global real estate services and is the premier international real estate consultant in Japan.
Speaker and NCCJ member Richard van Rooij has 20 years of high level diversified real estate services experience in Japan and he is currently the representative director of both Colliers International and Halifax Asset Management. Richard gave us a comprehensive overview of the Tokyo commercial real estate market, his colleague Brett Jensen, a 10-year+ Osaka veteran, gave us an overview of the vibrant Kansai area.
The audience received a well documented explanation of how Colliers International Japan has morphed from a developer into a successful real estate services company through specialization, cross fertilization and offering a unique business proposition of helping tenants finding solutions and cost reduction benefits. Current market trends were also addressed, as well as the opportunity of achieving savings in the current market.
A lively Q&A session highlighted the many sided aspects of the subject and the real benefits experts can offer in this market.
