Update from Oranda-jima; visit to Yamadamachi | The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Japan (NCCJ)

Please find here a visiting report to Yamada-machi that was partly destroyed by the tsunami. This covers the project that will build a Child Care and Play Centre with Elderly Bath Facility within 3 months (see the design here); it promotes that elderly who lost their home and children now living in emergency facilities assist each other under the initial guidance of UNICEF.

After initial management by a dedicated ‘Oranda-jima NPO’ now being established by the PA International Foundation with the support of several major Dutch companies and foundations, the entire building will be given to the local authorities.
